However, we have more news. The Pygmy Peril ran a contest where readers could submit their own captions to a page of the Pocket God comic. The winner was Sarina, and an excerpt of her entry is above. Congratulations, Sarina!

Weldon Adams adds:

If you would like to be as cool as Sarina, you need to be reading THE PYGMY PERIL and entering our next contest! And it’s FREE! FREE as a Dodo! (Provided you have purchased the app itself) So what are you waiting on? Enter!

Good luck, my little pygmies and pygmites!

So, hey, it sounds like a good idea to me. Check out the Pygmy Peril regularly, and keep checking here for updates on the comic and our upcoming “Ooga Jump!”

The Pygmies, now split up, continue their quest in Part Two of “The Pygmies Strike Back!”

The two tribes have divided into two separate factions with their own goals — and their own gems. Ooga’s half of the tribes have crossed the sea, following Nooby’s “thingy” to find whoever’s been hunting them. Klak is a bit “moony” over Moon, having developed something of a bond with the dangerous thrill-seeker.

Klik’s group was originally set to head for safety on Oog Island — until Klik received a vision from the spirit in his dreams, saying that help lies inland, over the mountain range. He tells the other Pygmies of their new destination, and Klak, to say the least, isn’t happy about it!

Klak has a reason to worry, however, as the mysterious cat creature he and Moon happened to run into in the last issue could be lurking anywhere. And there’s nothing but Klik’s word for the other Pygmies to go on… are they heading into a trap of their own? And why do these cat creatures want the Pygmies, anyway?

Meanwhile, Ooga and his group aren’t doing particularly well on their quest. Is Klik right? Have they been led into a trap? Where exactly is Nooby’s thingy taking them?

Issue 22 continues the tradition of Jason Burns’ writing, Rolo and Aroldo’s artwork and colorist Diego Rodriguez’s brilliant colors. On top of it all, the APE Entertainment crew is doing their usual much-more-than-capable job of bringing it all together for your benefit! Plus, don’t forget the Pygmy Peril, which is always free!

Check out Part Two of “The Pygmies Strike Back” today!

It’s called Ooga Jump, and it takes the existing mini game found inside of Pocket God and turns it up to 11.

Allan and Dave decided to take one of the most popular mini-games in Pocket God, Ooga Jump … which, of course, sprang from our cross-over with Doodle Jump! Wanting to put their own twist on the game and differentiate it, they came up with a new game mechanic in addition to the jumping which will make it faster, more frenetic and more challenging … and basically more fun! And suffice it to say that they weren’t satisfied with your standard death of falling off the screen; there are additional new flourishes that lay well outside the jumper paradigm, plus there’s that recognizable Pocket God groove, multiplied by a million. This was worth waiting for.

TouchArcade will be there with the first screenshots, and we’ll have more news on this as it comes in!

In the meantime, if you haven’t seen a sneak peek of issue 22 of the Pocket God comic… > > check out the Pocket God forum here! < <

People have been quite rightly wondering what has become of “The Runs.” Here’s the story: “The Runs,” over the past year and a half, has become epic. Very epic. So epic that it was clear Dave and Allan weren’t going to be able to finish it anytime soon. There was always a chance that it could get done by the deadline, but there was always one more level or aspect that had to be worked on. By the beginning of this year, we realized we need to put out something new…

They’ve now switched gears a bit and have something else in the works that is a bit smaller scale while continuing to plug away on the Runs, and it will be announced on Touch Arcade VERY soon…maybe today! And Allan let us know it will have some familiar characters…

Recently I animated animals. I’ve animated a monkey and dodo, to be specific, upgrading the art for higher resolution. The dodo isn’t the same as the one in Pocket God; it got a bit of a makeover. It also might be surprising to hear that I also did an incredibly elaborate drawing of a black hole which was fun. It reminded me of when I was 14 and painted electric guitars floating in space.

Today isn’t quite as much fun. I’m back to more tedious art “adjustments” that often happens because it isn’t easy to get freelance artists to design art that fits perfectly. That’s sort of boring, but that’s my day today and probably tomorrow.

So, monkeys, dodos, a black hole, and another old Pygmy nemesis. I leave it to you to put it together. But you won’t have to speculate for long. The game is nearing completion, and once it’s completed, the premiere will be announced on TouchArcade.

We apologize for all the secrecy; we know it’s been tough to wait, and we really appreciate your patience. Pocket God fans are the coolest of all fans (this has been scientifically verified by several sources) so naturally Allan and Dave wouldn’t want to let anyone down. When the new game premieres, we hope that everyone will enjoy it! Stay tuned!

We checked in on Dave recently, and he gave us his report of how his days have gone as he readies the Big Surprise coming up. I wake up at 10:00am, read a little bit of news before crawling out of bed. I do a run down with Pepijn and Jeff before I get in front of the computer, and then I hibernate in my office until 12:00 at night. I eat all my meals at my desk and take small breaks to get water but other than that I try to shut out everything that doesn’t have to do
Read More >>

We checked in on Dave recently, and he gave us his report of how his days have gone as he readies the Big Surprise coming up.

I wake up at 10:00am, read a little bit of news before crawling out of bed. I do a run down with Pepijn and Jeff before I get in front of the computer, and then I hibernate in my office until 12:00 at night. I eat all my meals at my desk and take small breaks to get water but other than that I try to shut out everything that doesn’t have to do with getting this app complete. Sometimes that’s not successful like when I need to respond to requests for a report on how my day goes.

Oops! Heh. Well, anyway, as you can see, he’s staying very, very busy, making sure things remain high quality and highly fun. Keep watching this space as we have more updates!
